…so he can learn to be resourceful and still have fun.
But…. I have no idea what the hell this thing’s name is. Nor the other one we made today. Bless his heart, I only had patience for two, I’m not gonna lie. I just don’t get the Pokemon thing. Do any of you?
It’s the home stretch, the seventh inning, the train is coming, and none of us are ready for school to start. But there it is on the horizon, marked by many things, including the knot in my stomach. Can you smell the starch in the paper, the musky wax smell of the fat crayons, the bite in the back of your nose from the freshly-cut field of grass? Can you see the acorns swelling on the oak branches?
This little sketch is for Leigh’s moleskine, in this month’s the much over due addition to the Moly_x_9 Moleskine exchange: BEES, one of my favorite things about the garden. There’s nothing like stark sunshine on your head, walking through the dry garden in summer, listening to the drone of the honeybees circulate among the tufts of lavender and rosemary.
We’re going to raise bees, ourselves. I’m building the courage to implore of the neighbors what they think of this idea. My only fear is that they might tend to fly into the pool next door, frequently filled with children, and reduce laughter and splashing to aggravated shrieks and screams!
Does anyone out there have advice on this matter?
