Here is where I post pictures of the ebullient first hours after a vaguely dismal four days.
I have lots of questions for my doctor tomorrow, a few directly about my thyroid NOT really operating at capacity. And about those dreadful emo days that just make me want to go ahead and cut myself as I recall them in the joyful days that follow.
I think I need to upgrade.
THIS, this is the quilt I made with Ford’s kindergarten class:
I kept all 20 of the students after school one afternoon and we monoprinted like mad with little bottles of fabric paint, 5 plastic plates and one very popular brayer.
It rocks!!! Surprise for the teacher tomorrow, just to let her know we’ve enjoyed those daytime hours this year, all free of sibling rivalry and backtalk. It’s been awesome!
Still, I spent this afternoon drafting a master plan for next year, and may lightening strike me, it involves homeschooling!

I kind of thought you were already homeschooling. I know he went off to kindergarten, but it seemed like a lot of fun learning was happening outside, but during school hours.
The quilt looks great. I was wondering how you could do an art quilt with the younger set.
Hope things become clearer at the doctor’s.
hey– would you tell me what he says (minus the gore)? i am in a similar place, minus all the getting stuff done/cute quilt/nice moleskine/sunny weather.
what fabulous quilt. such a thoughtful present. as a former school teacher, i think she’ll love it.
and oh yea. homeschooling rokx!
I love it- I just did a monoprint lesson for some of the preschoolers in our town! I love expanding their visions of art
and hey as a former teacher- who is now homeschooling (actually he still goes to public for a few specials- spanish/PE, parties etc) – It’s crazy (but i also have a 2 yo and 5 mo old) but it’s great- my son loves it- even our school principal says its the best thing for him- You have to love it when they spend 2 hrs of their own time recontructing the circus maximus in rome with construction paper! Good times! I have some good recommendations if you ever want some!
Followed a link here from another site. Sweet blog.
thank you!
Sorry for the late response. I’m lame.
test results not back yet because I haven’t had any bloodwork done (scheduling conflicts yadayada), but doc says I look great on the superficial! woohooo
